13 grandchildren),
all of whom currently live in Japan.  Their daughter and

Notes on Asia from Russell Board:
Persecution is the number one hindrance faced by the church in Asia.  Christians face
persecution from Muslims in Bangladesh, Hindus in India, Buddhists in Sri Lanka, and
communists in Laos.  Believers in many countries pay a price in lost employmnet
opportunities, broken family relationships and community ostracism in order to follow
Chirst.  Some risk life and limb for their faith.  Restrictions on evangelistic activities
are a fact of life for many congregations.  Yet the church continues to grow by the
grace of God.

The most populous countries in the world are in Asia.  Look at these numbers:
All told, the continent of Asia is home to 3.5 billion people, more than the rest of the
world combined!
